What is a Private Message?

Private messaging is a feature available out of the box within the Verint community. Private messaging allows community members to send private messages to one another as well as a group of other members. 

Messages can be found via the chat icon within the site banner of a community. 

Creating A Private Message

1. Within your community, click on the messages icon in the site banner:

2. Either click new message to immediately create a new message or click view all to view all of your messages (and then you can click new from there to create a new message)

3. Please enter and select the recipients you would like to send your message to
   1. 
4. Please enter your message text and then click send. Please note, that this field is a rich text editor, so it supports linking items, media items, formatting, etc. 
   1. NOTE: The box may read "enter to send" - that means if you are typing text and this box is checked - when the return key is hit - it will send your message 

Managing Private Messages Notifications

Members can receive real-time private message notifications in the navigation bar via Live Alerts or email. To set these notification options: 

1. Click on your avatar
2. Click on settings

3. Click on the notifications tab
   1. 
4. Scroll down to activity from my network - the last item in that section is the notification option for private messages.
   1. 
5. Please enable/ disable the type of notifications you would like to receive (either live alert/ email or both). 
6. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click save.
