How Can Advanced Manufacturing Build Resilient Pharmaceutical Supply Chains?

Global disruptions have exposed critical vulnerabilities in pharmaceutical supply chains, putting access to essential medicines and national health security at risk. At the upcoming ISPE conference, I’ll present USPs strategic framework for assessing upstream supply chain risks and implementing actionable solutions, such as onshoring and advanced manufacturing technologies. I will focus on specific example of Zidovudine as a case study, that allows understanding the upstream supply chain of Zidovudine from segmentation to providing actionable insights such as developing efficient manufacturing process through flow chemistry/continuous manufacturing.

What do you see as the biggest challenge in moving from traditional batch processes to continuous flow manufacturing as a strategy for supply chain resilience?

And if you’ll be at ISPE, I hope we can connect in person, feel free to message me here or respond below!
