There are many, many articles regarding AI being integrated into drug development and pharmaceutical manufacturing, offering breakthroughs in RD, discovery, clinical trial design, process optimization. The arguments are being made that AI can significantly reduce time, cost, etc associated with bringing a new drug to market. A lot of benefits to manufacturing is also being articulated - real-time monitoring, higher efficiency to name a few.
However, one question remains - do we have any concrete examples (articles, posters, or other resources) that illustrate the tangible value AI has brought to drug development and manufacturing so far? And a follow up question - Are there any retrospective analyses (reviews or case studies) available that highlight measurable success given the widely discussed promise and potential of AI in the past 2-3 years?
